Evergreen Recycling
President of Evergreen Recycling, Robert M. Dorinson, has been in the recycling business since 1997. The idea of starting his own company began earlier in his career working in development. Robert would reuse the materials on his construction sites and figured that the city of Las Vegas was in need of a better and more efficient recycling center. The employees of Evergreen simplify the recycling process for the community by sorting the products off a conveyor belt. “Convenience” is the key to his business.
Robert was astounded with the government’s interest in the “green industries.” Robert states, “This was my second time using the SBA 504 loan. And this time around the process was definitely a lot smoother than the first because I went through NSDC. The whole staff was passionate and full of encouragement. They have told me many times how much they appreciated what I am doing for the environment.” Robert goes on to say, “I refer all my friends who are business owners to use NSDC because they are such professionals and truly support the growth of small business owners in Nevada.” Evergreen Recycling has become one of the largest recycling centers on the west coast and the largest in the state on Nevada, also providing its services during the construction for MGM’s City Center Project. |

Hometown Solutions
Insurance
Lisa Feyder and Tami Coleman joined forces in 2002
to forge Hometown Solutions Insurance as an independent insurance
agency to serve clients in the Elko area and throughout the State.
As an independent agency, they are able to find the best insurance
products and pricing from numerous sources to provide home and auto
insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, bonding, and Mexico
insurance.
When the women decided they wanted to purchase the
building they have been occupying, they chose to take advantage
of the benefits of a SBA 504 Loan through Nevada State Development
Corp. With this loan, they ensure their location remains
stable for their clients and their low payment will be stable for
20 years. Tami and Lisa said of their experience during the loan
process "It was a pleasure doing business with Adrien Burney. We
were very pleased with the service and enjoyed working with the
friendly staff at NSDC." |

Desert Electric
Desert Electric owners, Hank and Frances Twigg,
were shocked with how quick their loan process was. They have been
leasing a 790 sq. ft. office since 2000 and as business started
to grow, the need for a larger office became apparent.
We, at Nevada State Development Corporation, were
there to step in and assist the future real estate owners using
our SBA 504 Loan Program. Frances Twigg says, “It was an awesome
and smooth process. Nevada State Development walked
me through the short duration of the loan and my loan officer was
with me ‘hand-in-hand’ throughout the process. Most companies refer
you to different people, but I was never tossed around.” The Twiggs
are now the proud owners of a 4,500 sf. office and warehouse. Frances
concludes, “We’re very happy!” |

Carson City
Harley Davidson
Richard and Roberta Tapia were looking to expand
their existing Harley-Davidson businesses, located in Merced and
Los Banos CA, when they purchased the existing Harley-Davidson store
in Carson City, NV in 2002. They soon found that the existing location
was very restrictive and made the decision to purchase land and
build a new building located at 2700 Research Way. The new location
provides an excellent variety of Harley-Davidson brand clothing,
an assortment of other cycle clothing, H-D motorcycle accessories
and of course a wide assortment of those big beautiful H-D cycles.
The business has a second Nevada retail location in South Lake Tahoe
CA.
The Tapia’s were familiar with the SBA 504 Loan
Program as they already have an SBA loan on their Merced store.
With the help of their bank and Nevada State Development
Corporation they were able to secure the second location
also through the SBA 504 Loan Program. Richard was very pleased
with the process and stated “I would like to thank Lenny See for
making this process nice and EASY. My experience with other lenders
is that they lose your documents and never call back. Nevada
State Development Corporation is well organized and they
truly want to help your business succeed.” |

Carpet Liquidators
Warehouse
Carpet Liquidators Warehouse, a warehouse-style
flooring store in Las Vegas that is open to the general public as
well as to contractors, has been extremely successful since its
inception in 1997. So successful, in fact, that local businessman
Harry Jacobs decided to purchase the business through a loan with
his bank. To complete the transaction, Mr. Jacobs asked about purchasing
the commercial real estate in which the business operates. He was
directed toward the SBA 504 Loan Program.
“My banker, Carolyn Crockett, recommended that
speaking with Nevada State Development Corporation
was the right course,” said Mr. Jacobs. “I can honestly say that
without NSDC, I would not be living the American
dream. Thank you so much for your support!” For more information
on how you, too, can live the American dream by purchasing commercial
real estate or equipment with up to 90% financing, contact a member
of the NSDC staff today. |
